More than the
first hospital bill.
A serious injury can change how you work, move, sleep, and care for your family. The first bill may arrive long before you know what recovery will require. You may be facing appointments, surgery discussions, or the need for daily help.
Tell me what your doctors have said and what life looks like now. The Huff Law Firm handles serious personal injury claims, including injuries from car, truck, motorcycle, and rideshare wrecks. We start with your story and the records that help explain it.

Look at today. Ask about tomorrow.
Care and recovery
Treatment records, recommendations, and documented limitations help show what the injury has required. When future needs are at issue, they should be supported by appropriate medical and other evidence.
Work and independence
Missed income is one part of the picture. A review may also address work restrictions, changes in earning ability, and assistance with ordinary tasks. Keep specific examples and supporting records.
An informed settlement decision
An early offer may arrive before the long-term picture is clear. Understand what a release would resolve and what remains uncertain. Ask questions before signing away a claim.
Houston roots. Texas reach.
Show us what has changed.
You do not need to organize everything before calling. Start with the information you can comfortably provide:
- How and when the injury happened
- Treating providers and current treatment information
- Written restrictions or recommendations from your providers
- Time missed from work and income records
- Help needed with transportation, care, or daily activities
- Insurance correspondence and any proposed release

Details that deserve a closer look
Make the daily impact easier to explain.
After a serious injury, ordinary tasks can become the details that are hardest to describe. A brief, dated record can help: an appointment you needed help reaching, a task you could not finish, or a work duty your provider restricted. Use specific examples and your own words. Accuracy matters more than dramatic language.
Keep bills, insurance benefit statements, and payment receipts together without treating them as the same document. A billed charge, an insurer’s adjustment, and the amount you paid can be different. Organized records help identify questions about expenses and reimbursement without assuming that every listed amount is recoverable.
Questions with Korey The Lawyer
Real questions.
Let’s talk about them.
Serious Injury Claims. Start here, then tell me what happened.
What types of serious injury claims do you review?
We review claims involving major injuries such as brain or spinal injuries, fractures, burns, and injuries requiring substantial treatment or affecting daily function. The diagnosis alone does not establish a legal claim. We also need to understand responsibility and the evidence.
Can I call while I am still in treatment?
Yes. You do not have to finish treatment before asking questions about a claim. Let your treating providers guide your care. Tell us what has happened so far and what they have recommended.
What if I may need surgery later?
Bring the medical recommendation if you have it. We need to understand whether surgery has been recommended, what remains uncertain, and how the treatment relates to the injury. A future-care claim needs support. It should not be based on a guess.
Can my claim address future care or lost earning ability?
Those issues may be relevant, depending on the facts and the law. Medical opinions, work history, restrictions, and other evidence may be needed. The review should address the future as well as bills already received.
Can a family member contact you for someone who is hospitalized?
Yes. A family member can start by sharing basic contact information and asking about the next step. Authority to make decisions or act for the injured person is a separate question that we will need to address.
What if I had a health condition before the accident?
Tell me about it. Accurate history helps us understand the difference between prior conditions and the changes you attribute to the accident. Do not leave it out because you are worried about how it sounds.
Should I settle if the offer covers my current medical bills?
Current bills are only one part of the review. Consider the treatment picture, other losses, available evidence, and what the release gives up. Before you sign or settle, talk with Attorney Korey Huff.
How much does a serious injury case review cost?
The initial review is free. Call 1-877-HIT-MEUP!®️. If we discuss representation, ask us to explain the attorney’s fee and case expenses in the written agreement. We are based in Houston and serve injured Texans.
How can I document missed income if I work for myself?
Keep invoices, contracts, appointment calendars, business records, and tax documents that show the work and income involved. Identify canceled jobs and added help you paid for, with supporting records. A change in business revenue can have several causes, so explain the connection you believe the injury had.
My family is helping with daily care. What should we record?
Write down the tasks, dates, approximate time, and any related expenses. Distinguish help you already received before the injury from new assistance. Keep relevant provider recommendations too. These details can support a discussion of your needs; they do not automatically establish that every hour is compensable.
An insurer sent a medical authorization. What should I look at?
Read who may obtain records, which providers and dates are covered, and what information the form requests. Keep a complete copy. A request can raise different issues depending on the claim and your own policy duties, so get advice about its scope rather than signing or ignoring it without review.
